International Women's Day Opens the Market
TORONTO, March 8, 2018 /CNW/ - In celebration of International Women's Day, Julie Levesque, Managing Director, Operations & Technology at Canada Pension Plan Investment Board (CPPIB), Michelle Holland, Toronto City Counsellor for Innovation, Peteris Ustubs, Ambassador of the European Union in Canada, and John Coyne, Vice President, Legal & External Affairs and General Counsel, Unilever Canada Inc., joined Tanya Rowntree, Global Head of Client Success, Capital Formation, TMX Group, and Co-Chair, WE Canada to open the market. For a fourth year, Women in ETFs is partnering with UN Global Compact, UN Women, the Sustainable Stock Exchanges (SSE) Initiative, IFC, and the World Federation of Stock Exchanges. Market opens will be held in over 63 exchanges globally to raise awareness about the business case for women's economic empowerment and the opportunities for the private sector to advance gender equality and sustainable development and focus on this year's theme, #PressforProgress.
