Investment Managers, Eden Rahim and Michael Bird, have joined Next Edge Capital Corp.
TORONTO, Sept. 10, 2014 /CNW/ - Next Edge Capital Corp. (Next Edge) is pleased to announce that Investment Managers, Eden Rahim and Michael Bird, have joined to provide portfolio management, financial advisory as well as other services to Next Edge. The agreement strengthens Next Edge's focus on providing platform capabilities to deliver innovative investment solutions to Canadian investors. The managers bring decades of option yield enhancing and hedging experience, along with portfolio and biotechnology fund management.
Mr. Rahim was most recently Portfolio Manager and Options Strategist on thirteen globally listed Covered Call ETFs and responsible for management of one of the largest option books in Canada. The ETF products were based on his dynamic Buy-Write discipline developed across institutional accounts since 1994 to systematically capture income from options markets. Eden was also a five-year, five-star Canadian growth fund manager with considerable hedging and structured products experience managing the RBC Growth Fund from 1998-2003. He also has an extensive nine year track record as a biotechnology analyst and manager.
Mr. Bird comes with over twenty-five years of options and derivative trading experience. He was previously head of the equity derivative group at Desjardins Securities. Other previous experience includes working as a senior trader in the equity derivative group at RBC-DS, as well as proprietary trading at CIBC Wood Gundy and McLeod Young Weir (BNS). Michael has served on the TSE Derivative Markets Committee and is a Director and Board Member of Intrinsyc Technologies Corporation (TSX).
The agreement will allow Next Edge to focus on providing innovative and unique investment solutions to Canadian investors by working with these two managers with decades of portfolio management, option hedging and yield enhancement experience.
