Investors Group and Mackenzie Investments support British Columbia clients and communities affected by wildfires

WINNIPEG, July 14, 2017 /CNW/ - Investors Group and Mackenzie Investments are offering support to clients and communities in British Columbia affected by wildfires.

The two companies, both members of IGM Financial, are making a combined $50,000 corporate donation to the Canadian Red Cross as part of its appeal for wildfire-affected areas in central B.C. Thousands of people have been displaced due to fires threatening local communities and many have lost their homes. In addition to its corporate donation, Investors Group will match donations made by its employees and Consultants up to $1,000 per individual.

"We are issuing this support to help the brave firefighters with the resources they need, the people whose homes and livelihoods have been lost, along with the dedicated volunteers who are providing them with comfort," said Doug Milne, Executive Vice-President, Chief Marketing & Strategy Officer, IGM Financial. "In addition to financial aid, we are also offering relief to clients in the affected areas who have mortgages and investments with Investors Group, to ensure we stand by them through this difficult time."

Investors Group will support clients affected by wildfires through the following:

• Clients may defer their mortgage payments, capitalization of payments or arrange refinancing to assist in reconstruction.
• Requests for investment redemptions will be rushed to ensure that clients receive money as quickly as possible.
• We will eliminate or refund NSF charges for clients due to insufficient funds.
• Clients may stop pre-authorized contributions to their investment accounts at any time.

Clients are encouraged to contact their Investors Group Consultant with any concerns or changes to their mortgage payments or investment contributions.
