MONTREAL, June 19, 2013 /CNW Telbec/ - For the third straight year Parc Jean-Drapeau is celebrating the arrival of summer by opening its Beach and Aquatic Complex pools to the public for a day of free swimming on Friday, June 21. Children, families and friends will have an ideal opportunity to enjoy these magnificent swimming areas that are located just minutes from downtown Montréal.
Beach
Visitors who come to the Parc on June 21 will have free access to the boats (kayak, mayak, canoe, pedal boat). They will also have free use of the trampolines and beach volleyball courts. For their added enjoyment there will be entertainment, contests and door prizes. And, exceptionally for this special occasion, the Beach will remain open until 9 p.m., so that people can enjoy the day and its many activities to the fullest.
Aquatic Complex
Visitors will also have the opportunity to take a refreshing dip in the Aquatic Complex's gradual-slope pool and have loads of fun playing in water games, on the trampolines and the huge inflatable structure. The Aquatic Complex will also remain open until 9 p.m.
People can get to Parc Jean-Drapeau by bike, car, subway, or by taking the river shuttle from Montréal's Old Port. Visitors can take advantage of the STM's Family Outings program which allows up to five children accompanied by an adult free use of the public transit system.
