Invitation for media representatives - The Fondation de l'Ordre des infirmières et infirmiers du Québec supports the deployment of community social pediatrics with a $250,000 grant
MONTREAL, March 12, 2015 /CNW Telbec/ - In Quebec, 30,000 children are considered at high risk. Their difficult living conditions have a great impact on their development and well-being. In addition, they lack access to the resources that would allow them to develop to their full potential.
On March 17, the Fondation de l'Ordre des infirmières et infirmiers du Québec will be announcing the recipients of its $250,000 Because We Care (Pour mieux soigner) grant. The funding will make it possible to meet a pressing need for local healthcare professionals to work with vulnerable populations.
In the winning project, nurses will play a key role, in co-operation with doctors, in assessing, guiding and providing clinical follow-up for these clienteles.
Media representatives are cordially invited to the announcement of the winners, including one of Quebec's best-known and best-loved personalities.

The OIIQ Foundation awarded its very first $250,000 grant in 2014, to set up a local nursing consultation clinic. This project, implemented in the Nord-de-Lanaudière CSSS, improved access to front-line healthcare within the public healthcare system.
