To support organizations in the tourism sector and prepare them for an eventual recovery, the Government of Canada will announce financial assistance in several regions across Quebec on January 18 and 19, 2021.
Élisabeth Brière, Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of Economic Development and Official Languages (Economic Development Agency of Canada for the Regions of Quebec), the Honourable Mélanie Joly, invites media representatives to a press conference on support for Amis des Jardins de Métis inc. and the Site historique maritime de la Pointe-au-Père.
Tourism is a major economic engine in Quebec generating many jobs. This sector was hit hard due to the COVID-19 pandemic and the impacts could last several months, and even years.
