Details:
Families of asylum seekers are in an extremely precarious situation.
Many families newly arrived in Canada, mainly asylum seekers, settled in the Bordeaux-Cartierville district of Montreal, live in a very difficult situation. Most of them have very young children, no diapers, no formula, no furniture, no financial resources and, of course, no network to support them.
The Bordeaux-Cartierville field workers, particularly the CIUSSS nurses from the North-Island of Montreal, say they have never seen such a situation, both in terms of the number of families and the seriousness of the cases.
The Committee for the Reception of Newcomers of Bordeaux-Cartierville, led by the Bordeaux-Cartierville Neighborhood Table, CLIC, decided to launch an urgent appeal for donations from the public and an operation to redistribute these donations to these poor families.
