MONTREAL, Aug. 24, 2012 /CNW Telbec/ -As part of the Presidents' Tour 2012, Pierre Mallette and Pierre Dumont, who are respectively the National President and the Québec Regional President of UCCO-SACC-CSN, will present a review of the issue of security and safety in the province's 12 federal penitentiaries.
Overcrowding, closure of the Leclerc institution, and the security and safety of correctional officers, inmates and the general public will be the issues on the agenda.
In addition, about fifty correctional officers will give the tour vehicle a motorcycle escort for the occasion.
The Presidents' Tour 2012 will make its way across Canada to visit members of UCCO-SACC-CSN in the country's 52 federal penitentiaries. The aim of the tour is to inform Canadians about problems encountered in our penitentiaries from coast to coast.
