QUÉBEC, Jan. 28, 2020 /CNW Telbec/ - ENTER THE FASCINATING UNIVERSE OF FRIDA KAHLO AND DIEGO RIVERA, TWO KEY FIGURES OF MEXICAN ART RECOGNIZED THE WORLD OVER FOR THEIR PASSIONATE LOVE AFFAIR, COMMITMENT AND OUTSTANDING CONTRIBUTION TO MODERN ART.
This major international exhibition is unquestionably the highlight of the Québec City cultural calendar. Through it, visitors will discover 30-odd mythical works by Kahlo and Rivera and paintings by other Mexican modern artists.
All told, more than 150 items will be exhibited, including remarkable works by María Izquierdo, David Alfaro Siqueiros and Rufino Tamayo, and 85 photographs, including an outstanding selection of works by Manuel and Lola Álvarez Bravo, a Latin American couple who rank among the 20th century's foremost photographers.
The MNBAQ is proud to be part of the prestigious circuit of this exhibition, which has enjoyed tremendous success in recent years in Europe, Australia and the United States.
Frida Kahlo, Diego Rivera and Mexican Modernism showcases two legendary figures of modern art and their contemporaries to reveal the breadth of 20th century Mexican culture.
The exhibition Frida Kahlo, Diego Rivera and Mexican Modernism is presented by La Capitale, Insurance and Financial Services, from February 13 to May 18, 2020. It is organized by the Vergel Foundation and MondoMostre, in collaboration with the Instituto Nacional de Bellas Artes y Literatura (INBAL) in Mexico.
