Presented by National Bank
QUEBEC, Feb. 4, 2021 /CNW Telbec/ - Fall under the spell of the Turner and the Sublime international exhibition presented during an exclusive Canadian engagement at the MNBAQ.
Discover visionary English painter, watercolourist and engraver Joseph Mallord William Turner (1775-1851), one of the 19th century's foremost European artists. Presented by National Bank, the innovatively designed exhibition focuses on highly topical questions and is sure to delight visitors, who will have an opportunity to view striking landscapes that highlight spectacular storms, turbulent seas, or impressive mountain vistas, and to experience the sublime. Turner's unique, modern grasp of landscape continues to engage and deeply move us to the present day.
This outstanding collection of 77 paintings and works on paper presented in Québec City covers the biggest portion of the great master's career, from the outset in the 1790s until his apogee around 1840.
Three original immersive video installations created from three of the artist's paintings round out this remarkable excursion to the heart of the sublime.
