Invitation to the news media - Arrival of the first ocean-going vessel at the Port of Montreal in 2014

MONTREAL, Jan. 1, 2014 /CNW Telbec/ - Ms. Sylvie Vachon, President and Chief Executive Officer of the Montreal Port Authority (MPA), invites the media to accompany the delegation she will lead to extend a warm welcome and best wishes to Captain Vijayendra Gurukant Chodankar and the crew of the Federal Spey, the first ocean-going vessel to reach the Port of Montreal without a stopover this year.

Flying the Marshall Islands flag, the Federal Spey is a bulk carrier (full of bulk sugar) operated by the Fednav International line, represented in Montreal by the Fednav Ltd. agency. The Federal Spey left the Port of Maceió in Brazil on December 14 at 3:00 p.m., and crossed the Port of Montreal's downstream limits at Sorel today at 2:02 p.m.
