Invitation to the news media - Arrival of the first ocean-going vessel at the Port of Montreal in 2016

MONTREAL, Jan. 1st, 2016 /CNW Telbec/ - Ms. Sylvie Vachon, President and Chief Executive Officer of the Montreal Port Authority (MPA), invites the media to accompany the delegation she will lead to extend a warm welcome and best wishes to Captain Jun Eric Alio Dalipe and the crew of the Vigorous, the first ocean-going vessel to reach the Port of Montreal without a stopover this year.

Flying the Marshall Islands flag, the Vigorous is a bulk carrier vessel operated by Vigorous Shipping and Trading Co., represented in Montreal by the agent McLean Kennedy Inc. The Vigorous left the Port of Sohar, Oman, on November 30, 2015, crossed the Port of Montreal's downstream limits at Sorel today at 05:21 a.m., and completed its route to MPA's Contrecoeur facilities.
