Invitation to the press - This Saturday, October 26, come find out how the elderly, the mentally ill and cleaning staff came together to build a new community center in the LaSalle borough of Montreal Français
LASALLE, QC, Oct. 22, 2013 /CNW Telbec/ - C.A.D.R.E. (Centre d'Action de Développement et Recherche en Employabilité) is delighted to invite you to the grand opening of the new community center at 7491, Cordner street in the LaSalle borough of Montreal, Saturday October 26th from 1pm to 5pm, including the ribbon cutting ceremony at 2pm.
C.A.D.R.E. is a non-profit organization whose objective is to maximize the well-being of the community. It started in 1992 by focusing on reintegrating people living with a mental illness into the community. Later, other organizations in financial turmoil were integrated in order to save jobs and services to the population, including Échange de Services de LaSalle, which provides home care services, Logi+Net as well as la Maisonnette Sud-Ouest which provide home cleaning services for seniors and people with disabilities.
The new community center houses all of these organizations, and will also accommodate other organizations in order to offer a variety of services under the same roof to the citizens of the greater southwest of Montreal. More than 2 million dollars were invested in building this new center in a context of government budget cuts and of a growing senior population.
