MONTREAL, Sept. 2, 2013 /CNW Telbec/ - Irois Léger, a former journalist and now a business entrepreneur announces that he will be an independent candidate for mayor of Montréal at the next municipal elections on November 3, 2013. The theme of his campaign: Direction Montréal.
Over the last nine years, Irois Léger, has been the Founding President of Montreal.TV, a video portal promoting Montréal, well known to Internet users.
"I absolutely love Montréal. I have been traveling around the city back and forth for the past 15 years to work with people from the cultural, charitable, business and sports communities. The candidates in the running want to maintain the old-fashioned political mentality. I honestly believe that our city needs new blood at City Hall", declared Mr. Léger.
"I will run a creative and informative campaign reflective of Montréal. To me, we are all Montréalers and together, the population and I, will transform how to run an electoral campaign and at the same time, we will transform the duties of a city Mayor", he added.
"My experience in business and journalism will help me to bring people together to adopt a more dynamic and participatory approach that will benefit Montréal and Montréalers", concluded Mr. Léger.
Mr. Léger will present his full program by September 20, 2013, the date on which the campaign will be officially launched.
As of today, Mr. Léger is ready to explain the strategy he wants to implement in order to restore Montréalers' pride towards their city and make Montréal a better place to live in along the years to come.
