Is Canada Missing the Mark on Innovation and Falling Behind on Entrepreneurship?
MasterCard to host a panel with technology and innovation experts
TORONTO, Sept. 24, 2013 /CNW/ - MasterCard Canada will host a panel in advance of the MasterCard NXT Developer Challenge to discuss Canada's path to innovation and increased entrepreneurship. The panel will discuss findings of a recent World Economic Forum study which ranked Canada 14th globally on the Global Competitiveness Report.
The panel will bring together experts on the technology and entrepreneurship side with participants:
- Brian Wong, Co-founder & CEO of Kiip
- Heather Payne, Founder, Ladies Learning Code
- Jeppe Dorff, Head of Transaction Services, Rogers Communications
- Todd Roberts, SVP, Payments Strategy and Innovation, CIBC
- Betty DeVita, President, MasterCard Canada
Following the panel, the MasterCard NXT Developer Challenge will kick off with 20 professional and student teams competing for three $10,000 prizes.
