Islamic Relief Canada Denounces Violence in Ottawa and Montreal

BRAMPTON, ON, Oct. 24, 2014 /CNW/ - Today, Islamic Relief Canada (IRC) issued the following statement regarding the recent violence in Ottawa and Montreal:

"As an organization actively assisting those faced with violence and other tragedies around the world, we are appalled by events in Ottawa and earlier near Montreal. We are an organization
committed to helping those in need and categorically reject any violent act or ideology.

We stand with fellow Canadians in condemning those responsible. The attack in Ottawa is especially troubling, given that it occurred at Parliament Hill. This is the very institution that represents us all and where dialogue and debate is welcomed, where disagreements are resolved peacefully.

Like all Canadians, we offer our sincerest condolences to the families, friends and colleagues of those affected by these tragedies. We would like to especially express our gratitude to first responders and to all of those who serve to protect our country everyday."
