It's a Vancouver Thing: New Tim Hortons Limited Batch Sumatran Coffee Available Exclusively in Vancouver
VANCOUVER, Sept. 9, 2015 /CNW/ - Coffee enthusiasts in Vancouver will be the first in the country to taste Tim Hortons new Limited Batch Sumatran Coffee – a full body, bold roast with earthy complex flavours. The new blend is part of a series of coffees sourced from renowned growing regions from around the world which are then custom roasted in limited batches by Tim Hortons Coffee Masters and introduced in select test cities for a limited time. Limited Batch Sumatran Coffee is available starting today for six weeks.
"A growing number of our Guests have appetites for discovery and variety, and see coffee as an affordable adventure," says David Clanachan, President and Chief Operating Officer, Tim Hortons Canada. "Our new Limited Batch Sumatran Coffee is the latest offering in our expanding coffee portfolio. With the highly successful launch of Dark Roast last year – over a million cups served since it launched – it's evident Canadians are interested in trying new coffee blends from Tim Hortons."
Tim Hortons has an expert team of Coffee Masters who oversee the process from bean to cup to ensure Guests enjoy the same superior cup of coffee at every visit. While the new Limited Batch Sumatran Coffee is distinctly different from Tim Hortons Dark Roast, Original or Decaf coffees, the meticulous growing, roasting and brewing process is consistent across all blends.
"The Limited Batch Sumatran Coffee was carefully crafted to capture the essence of its origin - the Indonesian island of Sumatra," says Kevin West, Senior Director, Coffee Operations, Tim Hortons. "By sourcing 100% Arabica beans exclusively from this tropical island, we preserve the distinct taste created by the region's unique growing conditions. It is made with a natural drying process that is unique to Sumatra which delivers a distinctly earthy and bold flavour."
Earlier this year, Limited Batch Colombian Three Peaks, a coffee blend from Cauca, Colombia, was available for eight weeks in Abitibi, Quebec; Saint John and Moncton, New Brunswick and Sudbury and North Bay, Ontario. It is now being brought to another test market - London, Ontario - starting today.
