OAK HAMMOCK MARSH, MB, Feb. 15, 2017 /CNW/ - It's the eve of Canada's Agriculture Day. How will you celebrate the hardworking men and women who produce our food?
At Ducks Unlimited Canada, we're marking the occasion by unveiling a new media content centre. It's a site filled with engaging and downloadable stories about farmers from across Canada. Run the articles as they appear—or contact us to learn more.
You'll find stories about people like Brad and Terri Mappin in Byemoor, Alta. who are seeing the financial and environmental benefits of keeping sloughs and native grasses on their land. And dairy farmers like John Wood, in Marshfield, PEI, who appreciate the awesome filtering capabilities wetlands have on his farm (and bottom line).
We recognize that at times, agriculture and conservation have been viewed as opposing forces. But stories like these show we're finding common ground. It's our mutual interest in sustainable prosperity that guide us forward. On Canada's Agriculture Day, we're tipping our hat to a long-time partnership.
So go ahead. Join us in celebrating Canadian agriculture. Because, whether you're in a metro newsroom or writing leads at a rural community newspaper, agriculture is a part of all of our lives. Download related videos, photos and stories and share them with your readers.
Ducks Unlimited Canada (DUC) is the leader in wetland conservation. A registered charity, DUC partners with government, industry, non-profit organizations and landowners to conserve wetlands that are critical to waterfowl, wildlife and the environment.
