OTTAWA, June 28, 2016 /CNW/ - His Excellency the Right Honourable David Johnston, Governor General of Canada, is pleased to invite members of the public to Rideau Hall Movie Nights, on June 29 and 30, 2016. This fun-filled event features outdoor screenings of Canadian films on the grounds of the official residence of the governor general. This year's feature films are Being Canadian and Guibord s'en va-t-en guerre
As of 8 p.m. members of the public are invited to bring their blankets, settle in with some free popcorn and enjoy special pre-screening entertainment. On both nights, the Canadian Armed Forces Strings Ensemble will perform, followed by the projection of Canadian film trivia.
This year, we will be delighted to showcase Canadian television prior to the screening of the feature films. On June 29, an episode of "Schitt's Creek" will be shown before Being Canadian and on June 30 an episode of "Les beaux malaises" will be shown before Guibord s'en va-t-en guerre.
Both feature films will be shown with subtitles. All activities are free of charge.
