JA Students from around the world to participate in JA Canada's Next Generation Leadership Forum
TORONTO, Aug. 3, 2016 /CNW/ - JA Canada, the largest provider of youth business education programs in Canada today announced that more than 140 student delegates from around the world will arrive in Toronto on August 8 to participate in the JA Canada Next Generation Leaders Forum (NGL).
The week-long forum held at Glendon Campus, York University aims to foster professional development and personal growth. The annual conference helps students build their leadership, creativity, team work and business skills as they solve a real-life business challenge, in collaboration with their global peers. Having developed success skills that are essential to making their dreams a reality, delegates will return back home to their schools and communities with a new perspective on what is possible for their future careers.
This year, JA Canada introduces the "NGL Ignite" Speaker Series. At this event notable speakers who are renowned leaders and experts in the field will share their real world knowledge with the conference participants. A highlight of the day will be a keynote address from Rhiannon Traill, President and CEO, Economic Club of Canada.
The Wilson Foundation is again the major sponsor of the conference. In alignment with a key strategic focus of the Foundation on supporting Business Ethics for Canadians, business ethics have been fully integrated into topics throughout the week long conference.
"We are deeply grateful to Mr. L.R. Wilson for continuing with his very generous gift to support JA Canada's Next Generation Leaders Forum as we strive to inspire top performing JA Students from around the globe with a once in a lifetime opportunity for leadership development," said Scott Hillier, CEO and President, JA Canada. "We are especially excited about the learning that the NGL business case competition will provide to students as they experience the benefits and challenges of collaborating with a global team to solve a business challenge."
"I am delighted to see JA Canada recognize and nurture the tremendous capabilities of our students by providing them with this unique opportunity to collaborate with and learn from their global peers, " said Asheesh Advani, CEO, JA Worldwide. " With participants attending from around the world this conference is an excellent example of the level of commitment and engagement that members of the JA network have to our mission."
