Jack Daniel's celebrates 150th anniversary with worldwide whiskey barrel hunt and historical cocktails from the decades
Kicking off in Halifax today, ten authentic barrels will be hidden across Canada while Jack shares his cocktail recipes 'through the ages'
LYNCHBURG, TN, July 5, 2016 /CNW/ - Happy 150th Jack! America's first registered distillery turns 150 this year and in celebration, Jack Daniel's is launching a global barrel scavenger hunt across 50 countries in just 90 days. Canadians will be able to join in the hunt as 10 authentic Jack Daniel's barrels will be hidden across the country, starting in Halifax today and finishing in Vancouver on September 15th.
Clues to the secret location of these barrels will be released on Jack Daniel's global Facebook page on the day of the city's hunt. The 10 lucky Canadians who find the barrels will take the barrel and its contents home. This includes a trip to the infamous distillery in Lynchburg, Tennessee with winners from countries all over the world for the ultimate anniversary party.
To further mark this historic occasion, cocktails through the ages have been created to honour each decade from the past 150 years and the era it represents. From the influence of politics, to film, New York and more, Jack Daniel's was always there to honor the occasion. It starts in 1866 with a Jack Daniel's neat and follows with 15 classics from the 1870s to today:
