LONGUEUIL, QC, March 17 /CNW Telbec/ - The Jacques Cartier and Champlain Bridges Incorporated (JCCBI) wishes to announce the complete closures of the five lanes of the Jacques Cartier Bridge on the following nights:
- Saturday, March 20 from 1 a.m. to 4 a.m. - Monday, March 22 from 1 a.m. to 4 a.m. - Thursday, March 25 from 1 a.m. to 4 a.m. - Saturday, March 27 from 1 a.m. to 4 a.m. - Monday, March 29 from 1 a.m. to 4 a.m.
Please take note that on the weekends of March 20 and 27 one of five lanes will remain closed to traffic during the work.
The work will involve the replacement of 4 bearings below the deck of the bridge. Detour roads will be put in place and the repairs will not be visible to bridge users other than by the signs installed in the area of the work site.
The bike path and the sidewalk will not be affected by the work and will remain opened to the public.
Please also note that the work may be postponed due to unfavourable weather conditions, at which time the work will be rescheduled to a later date or before. It is also likely that the roadwork will take less time than anticipated, in which case the lanes will be opened to traffic.
