Jamieson Laboratories Appoints Dr. Louis J. Aronne to Board of Directors

TORONTO, March 27, 2014 /CNW/ - Jamieson Laboratories today announced the appointment of Dr. Louis J. Aronne (M.D., F.A.C.P.), distinguished clinician, scholar, author and teacher, to its Board of Directors.

A graduate of Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine, Dr. Aronne is the Sanford I. Weill Professor of Metabolic Research at Weill Cornell Medical College, and he holds an adjunct appointment at Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons. He serves as director of the Center for Weight Management and Metabolic Clinical Research, a state-of-the-art, multidisciplinary research and treatment program at Weill Cornell Medical College and New York-Presbyterian Hospital. Dr. Aronne is an internationally recognized health specialist and has authored more than 60 papers and book chapters. His book, The Skinny: On Losing Weight Without Being Hungry, was a New York Times bestseller in 2009.

Dr. Aronne has been a consultant to the Food and Drug Administration, the Federal Trade Commission and the Department of Veterans Affairs. Dr. Aronne has also served as a reviewing member for the Department of Health and Human Services and the Food and Drug Administration on publications.

CCMP Capital Advisors purchased Jamieson Laboratories Ltd. on January 31, 2014.
