Jamieson Wants You to Choose Your Favourite Wildlife or Wilderness Group
Call for the Wild! to donate $100,000 to Canadian grassroots organizations
TORONTO, Aug. 18, 2014 /CNW/ - The polls are open for Canadians to vote for one of five non-profit wildlife and wilderness organizations during Call for the Wild! Created by Jamieson Laboratories, the annual people's choice program awards $100,000 to community groups that are working to protect, conserve and rehabilitate Canada's iconic habitats and species.
The finalists represent diverse regions of Canada:
- North Island Wildlife Recovery Association (British Columbia)
- Wildlife Haven Rehabilitation Centre (Manitoba)
- Wildlife Preservation Canada (Ontario)
- Regroupement QuébecOiseaux (Quebec)
- Cobequid Wildlife Rehabilitation Centre (Nova Scotia)
Now in its fifth year, Call for the Wild! offers Canadians the chance to celebrate the work of community environmental groups, while raising awareness about the urgent support our wilderness species and spaces need.
"The program offers a great opportunity for organizations to engage their communities and raise much-needed funds," explains Hope Swinimer, founder of Hope for Wildlife, a 2013 recipient of $35,000 from Call for the Wild! "We encourage all Canadians to learn about the work of these important organizations and then show support by voting."
Every vote contributes to the donation total that each organization will receive from the $100,000 Call for the Wild! fund. To cast your vote, visit facebook.com/jamiesonvitamins until September 14, 2014, (11:59 pm EST). The public is also invited to post questions for the finalists on Jamieson's Facebook and Twitter accounts.
