January 29 - Day of Remembrance and Action on Islamophobia and All Forms of Discrimination in Pierrefonds-Roxboro - Invitation to a Press Conference Français
MONTREAL, Jan. 28, 2019 /CNW Telbec/ - To commemorate the second anniversary of the attack at the Grand Mosque of Quebec City of January 29, 2017, and in the spirit of living together, the Mayor of Pierrefonds-Roxboro, Dimitrios (Jim) Beis, invites the media to a press conference on Tuesday, January 29, 2019, at 10 a.m., in the Borough Council room.
This event is a follow-up to the mayor's commitment, with the support of his Borough Council, to mark annually the "Day of Remembrance and Action Against Islamophobia and All Forms of Discrimination", in order not only to perpetuate the memory of the 6 Canadian-Muslim victims of the January 29, 2017 attack, but also to raise public awareness on the importance of respecting differences and to fight against all forms of discrimination (such on the basis of religion, sex, race, ethnicity, age, sexual orientation, disability and others). Residents are also invited to sign a solidarity book all day long, between 8 a.m. and 7 p.m., at the Borough hall to express their sympathy.
