Japanese Canadian Cultural Centre to Honour Authors Haruki Murakami and Joy Kogawa with Prestigious Sakura Awards

TORONTO, March 12, 2015 /CNW/ - Acclaimed authors Haruki Murakami and Joy Kogawa are the recipients of dual Sakura Awards. The award celebration will take place at the Sakura Gala on May 30, 2015 at the Japanese Canadian Cultural Centre.

Presented annually by the Japanese Canadian Cultural Centre, the Sakura Award recognizes individuals who have made exceptional contributions to the promotion and exchange of Japanese culture and enhancing awareness of Japanese heritage within Canada and abroad.
