Government of Canada supports Fondation Jardin Scullion in Saguenay-Lac-Saint-Jean
SAGUENAY, QC, June 21, 2017 /CNW/ - Canada Economic Development for Quebec Regions (CED) Tourism provides an excellent opportunity for economic development in Canada. The Government of Canada's investment in tourism projects reflects its willingness to support actions that generate substantial economic benefits in the Saguenay–Lac-St-Jean region and across the country.
The Honourable Navdeep Bains, Minister of Innovation, Science and Economic Development and Minister responsible for CED, announced that the Fondation Jardin Scullion has been granted $150,000 in financial assistance, in the form of a repayable contribution, to make one of its trails more accessible.
Created in 2001, the Fondation Jardin Scullion is dedicated to the promotion of recreational and tourism activities associated with the regional flora and fauna, public awareness and education about the forest and experimentation with ornamental horticulture and the development of related activities. The funding granted through CED's Quebec Economic Development Program (QEDP) helped the organization build a bridge allowing electric carts to travel along the trails.
