Jaxon commences exploration and drilling at Nox Fort

VANCOUVER , Sept. 14 /CNW/ - Jaxon Minerals Inc., (the "company") (TSX-V: JAX) is pleased to report that it has commenced exploration on its 100% optioned NOX FORT property near Salmo, British Columbia. The program will consist of approximately 10 diamond drill holes totaling 2,500 meters together with further Soil Gas Hydrocarbon (SGH) geochemical sampling, ground magnetometer surveys and prospecting.

On July 17, 2009 the Company press released the results of its extensive 2008 field exploration program that identified two high priority Reduced Intrusion Related Gold Deposit (RIRGD) style drill targets as well as other new anomalous gold localities.

In the Bunker Hill area mineralization is found in quartz veins hosted in a granitic intrusion and in adjacent hornfelsed altered country rock. Several vein orientations occur but generally the meter-scale quartz veins exhibit low sulphide content and little alteration. The portal veins occur in metasediments near the western contact of the Bunker Hill granitic sill while the Bi Tel Knoll sheeted veins and veinlets are hosted in the Bunker Hill Sill and its contact. Highlights in TABLE ONE are taken from the Company's July 17, 2009 Press Release. At the Bunker Hill target, quartz veins have the distinctive Au, Bi, and Te content typically associated with RIRGD's. This target will be diamond dill tested in October 2009 .

    In the Leferve Skarn area adjacent to the western contact of the Bunker
Hill Sill, gold rich skarns have been developed (See TABLE TWO) and will be
drill tested. RIRGD's typically have associated skarns and at Leferve
overprinting gold-bearing sulphide and quartz veinlets cross-cut the
calcareous rocks hosting the gold mineralized skarn.

The 2009 surface exploration program which is targeting new anomalous gold areas identified in 2008 is now actively in progress and diamond drilling is scheduled to begin early October.
