/CNW/ - Jazz Air LP (Jazz) has been advised by the Canadian Auto Workers (CAW) that the ratification vote for the tentative agreement which was reached on
August 28, 2009
with its Customer Service Agents and Aircraft Services employees resulted in a 49% yes vote, which is marginally below the requirement to ratify the agreement.
In view of this result, Jazz and the CAW will meet with the federal conciliations officer as soon as possible to discuss next steps.
The CAW represents approximately 950 Customer and Aircraft Services employees at Jazz.
On
September 12
, the agreement reached with Jazz's Technical Services (Maintenance and Engineering) division was ratified. Jazz Technical Services employees are also represented by the CAW.
Jazz is the second largest airline in
Canada
based on fleet size, operating approximately 830 flights daily to 84 destinations in
Canada
and the
United States
.
