/CNW/ - Jazz Air LP announced today that it has reached a tentative labour contract with the Canadian Auto Workers (CAW) Local 2002.
On
September 24, 2009
the CAW had advised that the tentative agreement which was reached on
August 28, 2009
with its Customer Service Agents and Aircraft Services employees resulted in a 49% yes vote, which was marginally below the requirement to ratify the agreement. In view of this result, Jazz and the CAW held discussions with the federal conciliations officer and agreed on a revised tentative agreement.
The agreement is subject to a ratification vote by approximately 950 union members employed at Jazz. Further details of the agreement will not be released pending ratification.
On
September 12
, the agreement reached with Jazz's Technical Services (Maintenance and Engineering) division was ratified. Jazz Technical Services employees are also represented by the CAW.
