HALIFAX, Jan. 28, 2014 /CNW/ - Jazz Aviation LP ("Jazz") is pleased to announce a gift of $12,722 to Nova Scotia-based Chisholm Services for Children. The funds for this gift were raised through an auction of uniquely designed furniture made from the transformation of retired Jazz aircraft parts.
Toronto-based Creative Group Interiors' principal designer, Aisan Ahmadi, created the pieces that were auctioned off at the conclusion of Sunday's Interior Design Show in Toronto. Jazz's half of the proceeds will be donated to Chisholm Services for Children (www.chisholm4children.ca), while Ahmadi and Creative Group Interiors will donate theirs to ONEXONE (www.onexone.org).
This project was made possible by 3 Points Aviation, a supplier and manufacturer of aircraft parts, who brought Jazz together with Ahmadi and Creative Group Interiors.
"When we first discussed this collaboration with 3 Points Aviation, they spoke passionately about their connection to organizations that supported children," said Jolene Mahody, Chief Operating Officer at Jazz. "Jazz is thrilled to honour the outstanding work they have done by also selecting an organization that does incredible work to better the lives of children with serious disadvantages. We are delighted to contribute to Chisholm Services for Children."
"We are so pleased that Jazz has selected our organization to receive the proceeds from this creative collaboration," said Wade Johnston, Executive Director of Chisholm Services for Children. "Community awareness and support makes such an important difference in the quality of service we are able to provide. Proceeds from this event will enhance the care our children deserve by supporting the programs we offer such as the HIGH FIVE sport and recreation program, LINKS literacy program, adoption project, mindfulness group and pet therapy program."
