Jazz Flight Attendants ratify labour agreement
HALIFAX, July 16 /CNW/ - Jazz Air LP (Jazz) announced today that its Flight Attendants, represented by the Canadian Flight Attendant Union (CFAU), have ratified a tentative agreement which was reached on June 30, 2010. The agreement covers a 6-year period expiring June 30, 2015.
CFAU represents approximately 760 Flight Attendants employed at Jazz.
"I sincerely thank our employees and representatives from CFAU for their commitment to reach this new collective agreement," said Joseph D. Randell, President and Chief Executive Officer of Jazz. "The conclusion of this agreement marks the end of the negotiation process with our major labour groups, and the term of the agreement provides the stability we require to continue to grow and diversify our business."
Jazz's Dispatchers ratified their collective agreement on March 27, 2010.
Jazz's Technical Services (Maintenance and Engineering) division ratified its agreement on September 12, 2009 and the airline's Customer Services and Aircraft Services divisions ratified their agreement on December 16, 2009. Both groups are represented by the Canadian Auto Workers (CAW).
Jazz's Pilots ratified their collective agreement on July 9, 2010.
Negotiations with Jazz's 33 crew schedulers (represented by the CAW) will re-commence at the end of July.
Jazz is the second largest airline in Canada based on fleet size, operating approximately 840 flights daily to 85 destinations in Canada and the United States.
