Jean Gaulin refinery marine terminal in Lévis - Valero Energy is conducting an emergency response exercise on May 7 Français
MONTREAL, May 6, 2015 /CNW Telbec/ - On May 7, Valero Energy will conduct an emergency response simulation exercise at the dock of the Jean Gaulin refinery marine terminal in Lévis. This exercise, which is scheduled from 8:00 A.M. until noon, is part of Valero's normal operations. It is intended to ensure the sound preparation and coordination of action required from the various responders concerned in the event of an emergency.
The exercise's scenario involves a simulated emergency response to a fictitious fire at the dock of the refinery marine terminal. Vehicles from the City of Lévis Fire Department will also be mobilized and will be clearly visible in the area during the exercise. The refinery's regular operations will go on as usual while the exercise is conducted.
In order to ensure everyone's safety and the smooth running of this exercise, the population and representatives of the media are asked not to come to the site at that time. A security perimeter will be in effect.
