OTTAWA, Jan. 24, 2017 /CNW/ - The Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) in Canada is pleased to announce that Mr. Jean-Nicolas Beuze took up his functions as the UNHCR Representative in Canada, effective 16 January 2017.
Mr. Beuze brings more than 19 years of international humanitarian and human rights experience, having worked with various United Nations Agencies including the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR), the Department of Peacekeeping Operations (DPKO) and the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF). Most recently, Mr. Beuze was the UNHCR Deputy Representative for Protection in Lebanon where he led the Inter-Agency Coordination for the refugees and resilience response plan between the Government of Lebanon, UN agencies and NGO partners, and donor countries.
