SASKATOON, Aug. 29, 2013 /CNW/ - Anchor and journalist Jill Morgan will make her debut as anchor of CBC News: Saskatchewan at 5, 5:30 & 6:00 and CBC Saskatchewan Late Night at 11:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 3 on CBC-TV.
"With Jill's leadership and experience, we're looking forward to bringing audiences a fresh, new take on local news from Regina, Saskatoon and across the province on both of our flagship TV news programs," said John Agnew, managing director of CBC Saskatchewan.
After a career spanning 12 years as the anchor of Global Regina's supper hour newscast "Evening News" at 6 p.m. and prime-time newscast "News Hour Final" at 10 p.m., Jill was instrumental in hosting several live newscasts for federal, provincial and civic elections, including hosting a long running series documenting the progress of Regina's Wascana Lake "Big Dig" and a current affairs series on motherhood. During her tenure, Jill and her team were recognized with two Radio- Television News Director Association awards for Best Local Newscast. She was raised in Melfort and is a graduate of the Northern Alberta Institute of Technology, Radio and Television Arts program.
