Joanna Wilson joins NATIONAL Public Relations to lead Healthcare Communications
TORONTO, March 26, 2012 /CNW/ - Catherine Cano, Managing Partner of NATIONAL Public Relations' Toronto office, is delighted to announce the appointment of Joanna Wilson as Vice-President and the lead of its Healthcare Communications practice, effective March 26, 2012.

She has grown to become one of Canada's most respected healthcare communications practitioners with an unrivalled wealth of experience, expertise and accomplishments," said Ms. Cano. "Joanna's strong leadership skills and industry knowledge will enable her to play a vital role in meeting and exceeding our clients' expectations."
Most recently, Joanna was Vice-President in one of the Canadian offices of a global communications firm. In this role, she was responsible for providing senior level counsel and account direction for a number of notable pharmaceutical and other healthcare clients. She has extensive therapeutic knowledge in several areas including oncology, diabetes, smoking cessation, cardiovascular disease, asthma, erectile dysfunction, influenza, osteoporosis and hepatitis C.
Additionally, Joanna brings strong expertise in the development and execution of product launch campaigns, stakeholder relations, crisis and issues management, clinical trial recruitment programs, advocacy campaigns, employee engagement and event management.

Joanna has won numerous industry awards for the development and execution of client programs. She sits on the Board of Directors of the Schizophrenia Society of Ontario and is a member of the Marketing Council for the Ontario Lung Association.
Joanna graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in History from Queen's University, Kingston, and she holds a Master of Arts from the University of Toronto. She obtained her certificate in public relations from Humber College.
