JOIN TVO FOR 40TH ANNIVERSARY KICK OFF CELEBRATION AT THE WORD ON THE STREET
TORONTO, Sept. 23 /CNW/ - TVO, Ontario's public educational media organization will kick off its 40th anniversary with a special lineup of events at The Word On The Street on Sunday, September 26 at Queen's Park in Toronto.
Join TVO's special guest, The Honourable Leona Dombrowsky, Ontario Minister of Education; Chair of TVO's Board Peter O'Brian; CEO Lisa de Wilde and friends of TVO on Sunday, September 26 from 11:45 am to noon for a special ceremony that will combine many of the unique elements of TVO's past, present and future.
TVO's Steve Paikin will emcee the lineup at the TVO stage including:
- The debut of a contemporary new TVO song "You're My Home", written and produced by TVO and performed in public for the first time by Ontario singer-songwriter, Brian MacMillan
- An opportunity to take part in the largest Polka Dot Door group sing-along ever
- The launch of a new "Where's Polkaroo?" contest, with special guest Polkaroo
- Exciting news about the launch of TVO's public archive
There will also be a full slate of free events at the TVO stage from 11:00 am to 6:00 pm. And meet the newest member of the talented team of TVOKids hosts, Drew Dafoe, who will make his first live TVOKids appearance on-stage at 11:30 am.
Highlights of the TVO stage show include:
- 11:00 am | Pop It! Dancers: Get funky with Briana, Shemar and Lamar! (Second performance at 2:00 pm) |
- 11:30 am | TVOKids Extravaganza: sing and dance-along with popular TVOKids hosts (Second performance at 3:30 pm) |
- 11:45 am | TVO 40th Anniversary Kick Off Ceremony |
- 1:00 pm | Autograph signing session with TVOKids hosts |
- 2:30 pm | Gisèle's Reading Adventure |
- 4:30 pm | Reading with Princess P and the Joker |
- 5:00 pm | Jackie's School of Dance: pick up some smooth dance moves from Jackie |
- 5:30 pm | Meet and greet with Polkaroo |
