Join Us to Celebrate Music in Montreal's Oldest Chapel
Free activities during the 20th Journées de la culture
MONTREAL, Sept. 26, 2016 /CNW Telbec/ - As part of this year's Journées de la culture, the Marguerite Bourgeoys Museum and Notre-Dame-de-Bon-Secours Chapel are offering special activities on Saturday and Sunday, October 1 and 2. On both days, visitors can join interpreter-guides to admire and learn more about the Casavant organ (and hear it!) and various images of musical instruments that adorn Montreal's oldest chapel. Also, on Sunday afternoon, visitors can take part in or simply listen to a collective vocal improv session led by voice coach and singer Josée Gagnon.
To learn more about the chapel's history and Marguerite Bourgeoys, visitors can continue with a tour of the museum ($). Discovery Tours of the archaeological site are also available on both afternoons. They're a fun family activity: a great opportunity to explore the archaeological site, see the remains of Montreal's first stone chapel and hear more about some travelling objects found on this important site.
