Joint statement from ONA and TBDHU
THUNDER BAY, ON, Nov. 16, 2018 /CNW/ - The negotiating committees for the two parties have reached a tentative agreement that they will be recommending to their respective memberships for ratification.
ONA is the union representing more than 65,000 registered nurses and health-care professionals, as well as 18,000 nursing student affiliates, providing care in hospitals, long-term care facilities, public health, the community, clinics and industry.
TBDHU is one of Ontario's 35 public health units. Covering a geographic area of over 230,000 square kilometres with approximately 146,000 residents, it is a non-profit agency funded jointly by the provincial government and the municipalities it serves. As a committed progressive public health agency, TBDHU is committed to improving health and reducing social inequities in health through evidence-informed practice.
