Jonathon Karelse of Factors Group Leads Workshop at Upcoming IBF Conference
VANCOUVER, Jan. 26, 2018 /CNW/ - Jonathon Karelse, chief strategy officer of Factors Group of Nutritional Companies Inc., will lead a workshop on how an advanced statistical modeling technique can improve sales insights during an upcoming conference hosted by the Institute of Business Forecasting and Planning (IBF).
The April event held in New Orleans is IBF's fourth annual Predictive Business Analytics, Forecasting & Planning Conference.
Jonathon Karelse's workshop will be entitled: "What Really Happened: How Multivariate Regression Can Help Quantify Sales Impact." It will be designed to help participants gain a clearer picture of the true effect on sales of promotional initiatives and changing market circumstances by separating out the "background noise" within demand data.
Isolating the impact of promotional work is a common challenge in a complex and dynamic sales environment, according to Karelse, and one not easily fixed via typical business intelligence and analytics software.
Karelse's workshop will also share a cross section of data preparation and analytical techniques, as well as ways to compensate for data availability gaps. In addition, Karelse will discuss more particular topics within the area of data analytics, such as which regression techniques suit which datasets and scenarios best and how demand planning organizations can implement repeatable, multivariate regression processes.
Jonathon Karelse is a frequent speaker, moderator and panelist at industry conferences and serves as a thought leader on supply chain management, demand planning and sales and operations planning. He has been published in various trade and academic journals, including the Journal of Business Forecasting, Foresight, and Supply Chain Brain, and is often cited as a subject matter expert.
Karelse has been recognized as "Best of the Best" among presenters at APICS/IBF joint sessions from 2009 to 2017, and was an executive panelist at the IE's Global CSO Conference in Singapore.
His presentation at IBF's April conference is part of a comprehensive program designed to help business organizations improve their decision-making and long-term planning through the use and better understanding of new sources of data, methods, tools and talent management.
