Judicial Council Hears TFN Election Appeals
TSAWWASSEN, BC, Nov. 26, 2012 /CNW/ - In a hearing with Tsawwassen First Nation (TFN) Members on Saturday, November 24, the TFN Judicial Council heard testimonies relating to two appeals by Tsawwassen Members regarding TFN's general election of September 5th, 2012.
The Judicial Council will now study the evidence and information provided at the hearing, and is slated to render a decision within the next weeks. It will make its decision known to the parties to the appeal, the TFN Executive Council and the TFN members and then to the public.
The TFN Judicial Council is an arm of TFN Government under TFN Legislation and was established in April of 2009. Members of the Judicial Council are chosen for their expertise and experience in the Canadian Judicial and Financial system and operate at arm's length from TFN Government.
