MONTRÉAL, June 9, 2014 /CNW Telbec/ - Visualize a beach located just five minutes from downtown Montréal and imagine the benefits of a refreshing dip...yes, this tiny piece of paradise really does exist at Parc Jean-Drapeau. The Beach opens to the public this Saturday, June 14, and it will be in operation every day, from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., until August 17. Then, from August 22 to September 1, the Beach will be open on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays, from noon to 7 p.m.
The Beach at Parc Jean-Drapeau is the perfect place to go swimming, lounge in the sun, play volleyball, do some open-water swimming, take a yoga lesson and get in shape on a paddle board or indulge in boating activities, since you can rent pedal boats, canoes, kayaks and mayaks on the site. Admission to the Beach is $9 for adults and $4.50 for children aged 3 to 13. After 4 p.m., the admission fee is reduced to $5 for adults and $3 for children.
New features this summer: teletraction wakeboarding and Wi-Fi access
Wakeboarding with a teletraction system is a new feature premiering in Montréal, making its debut on the Beach's lake. Beginners and high-performance athletes alike will have the opportunity to enjoy wakeboarding as they are towed by a back-and-forth cable system on a set circuit. The more daring wakeboarders can even try to defy the ramps and obstacles that have been set up along the way. Thrills are guaranteed! And, for the enjoyment of tekkies, free WiFi access is now available at the Beach!
