MONTREAL, May 27, 2013 /CNW Telbec/ - The Société de transport de Montréal (STM) wishes to inform customers that it will be carrying out work at Square-Victoria station and, as a result, the Belmont entrance, located at 605 Belmont, will be closed from June 3 to September 8.
This will enable the STM to repair sections of the structural slab and concrete sidewalk in front of the entrance doorway, modernize the wall finishes, recondition the granite staircases, and replace some sections of the floor covering. In addition, work on the platforms, mainly involving the wall finishes and staircases, will continue until October 31.
The station will still be accessible at all times via the Viger entrance. However, this may require some passengers to leave the building to reach their offices. STM personnel will be on hand for the first two days to provide assistance, and signs will be posted for the duration of the work. No bus stops will be moved.
Note that Square-Victoria station was opened in 1967 and is used by some five million passengers annually.
This work is part of the Réno-Infrastructures program, jointly financed by Transports Québec and the STM.
