JUNO Awards laughing all the way to 2018 show with reinstatement of Comedy Album of the Year category sponsored by SiriusXM Canada
TORONTO, Aug. 30, 2017 /CNW/ - The Canadian Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences (CARAS) today announced the re-establishment of the JUNO Awards category Comedy Album of the Year, sponsored by SiriusXM Canada. Back after a 33-year hiatus, the award is being recognized by CARAS as the 42nd category for submission.
Albums eligible for submission must be recorded by a comedic performer or performers of any of the following disciplines: stand-up, sketch, improvisation or musical comedy. The category represents a genre that embraces satire, social commentary, absurdism, parodies, character-based humour and monologists; there are no sales qualifications for this category. Submissions for the 2018 JUNO Awards open on October 2 and close on November 10. Visit junoawards.ca for more information.
