Just Energy Proud to Award Top Performing Students

The Company Joins Consumer Energy Alliance and the University of Houston to honor top students at Houston's Energy Day Festival

HOUSTON, Oct. 22, 2013 /CNW/ - As a proud sponsor of the recent third Annual Energy Day Festival in Houston, Just Energy was proud to highlight its participation with a financial award to the Science Engineering Fair of Houston. Presented by Deborah Merril (pictured), Executive Vice President of Just Energy, the award went to the first, second, and third place winning students who competed in the Energy/Transportation category of the 2013 Science Engineering Fair of Houston (SEFH).

SEFH is one of six unique, citywide, energy-related competitions recognized at this year's Energy Day Festival. Winners from each of the six competitions receive an award and recognition at Energy Day.

The competitions comprise the Energy Day Academic Program, a year-long initiative designed to engage students in energy education and inspire young minds to seek careers in science and technology. SEFH has promoted the "learning and application of technology" for Texas junior and senior high school students in Houston and the 23-county area since 1960. A regional fair, SEFH is associated with the INTEL International Science & Engineering Fair and is one of the largest pre-college STEM activities in the U.S.

The Houston Annual Energy Day Festival is a free, day-long family oriented event showcasing innovation in energy.
