MONTREAL, Nov. 5, 2015 /CNW Telbec/ - Justin Trudeau, the 23rd Prime Minister of Canada has appointed his cabinet, which was sworn in today in Ottawa. After campaigning passionately about real change, Canadians today know the names of the Ministers who will drive that change.
As chairman of the Arton Advisory Board and a former Minister of Citizenship and Immigration, the Hon. Sergio Marchi welcomed the new Minister of Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship, Hon. John McCallum.
"John understands well the delicate issues of the immigration world. He has been the Immigration Critic for the Liberal Party, and this experience and knowledge will be in invaluable as he seeks new policy solutions," said Marchi.
Until today, Mr. McCallum assumed the role as the Liberal Critic for Citizenship and Immigration, Multiculturalism and Seniors, and filled a variety of cabinet positions, including Minister of National Defence and Minister of National Revenue. Prior to his entry into public service, worked as the chief economist for the Royal Bank of Canada and was a professor of economics at several Canadian universities.
"Canada was built by citizen immigrants, people who come here permanently with their families to become Canadians," shared McCallum at the Global Citizen Forum, curated by Arton Capital and held on October 2-3, 2014 in Toronto.
"We are already feeling the wind of change with the swift creation of the Cabinet Committees on Inclusive Growth, Opportunities and Innovation, on Diversity and Inclusion, and on Canada in the World and Public Security," said Armand Arton, President and CEO of Arton Capital, the global leader in investor migration. "As Canadians we are hopeful for the positive changes to come," shared Arton. "Canada remains the top destination for high net worth individuals who want to immigrate to provide a better future for their families," concluded Arton.
