Kanetix.ca helps you reduce your car insurance premium as well as your carbon footprint
Kanetix to donate to Tree Canada when shoppers connect with an insurer through the Kanetix.ca car insurance quote comparison service
TORONTO, April 3, 2012 /CNW/ - For the month of April, online quote comparison website for insurance and financial products, Kanetix.ca, has pledged to help drivers reduce their carbon footprint. Every time a car insurance shopper gets a quote and connects with an insurer through Kanetix, a donation will be made to Tree Canada. The donation will go towards the cost of the tree itself, as well as the labour efforts required to plant and maintain it.
The donation program is open to Canadian motorists in Ontario, Alberta, Quebec, Nova Scotia, Prince Edward Island, and New Brunswick - everywhere Kanetix offers their car insurance comparison service.
Tree Canada is a not-for-profit, charitable organization providing education, technical assistance, resources and financial support to encourage Canadians to plant and care for trees in rural and urban areas.
"We are thrilled to be raising funds for Tree Canada, an organization that provides the essential message of environmental advocacy coast-to-coast," said Janine White, Director, Marketplace for Kanetix.ca. "Our goal is to give customers the opportunity to reduce their carbon footprint while saving money on auto insurance."
Kanetix aims to help drivers reduce their carbon footprint; especially given the link between transportation and the environment. This includes easy-to-do steps such as carpooling, opting to bike on occasion, and taking advantage of public transit.
"By making an active effort in reducing carbon emissions, we can reach our destinations in a safe and green way - and not to mention save a few dollars on insurance," said Ms. White.
The campaign officially launches on April 2, 2012 and will continue throughout the month. Kanetix expects to donate well over 1000+ trees to the organization to be planted in the spring of this year in rural, urban, and forested regions across Canada.
