OTTAWA, Sept. 17, 2012 /CNW/ - Hydro Ottawa is proud to recognize the Kevin Haime Golf School as the September 2012 recipient of the Companies for Conservation award for installing energy-efficient lighting at its two Ottawa locations.
"The Kevin Haime Golf School truly has embraced energy conservation. Their success serves as an inspiration for other small businesses looking to go green," said Roger Marsh, Hydro Ottawa's Chief Energy Management Officer.
The Kevin Haime Golf School replaced all its indoor lighting through the saveONenergy Small Business Lighting Program. Under this provincial program, qualifying businesses can get up to $1,000 of lighting and equipment upgrades. The Kevin Haime Golf School received $960 in program funding and invested an additional $586 to implement all of the recommended upgrades.
Thanks to these upgrades, this family-owned and operated business has cut energy costs by more than $500 per year.
"The saveONenergy Small Business Lighting Program helped us save money and it is good for the environment. There truly is no downside for small businesses," said Kevin Haime, owner of the golf school and driving range.
