Kia Canada Inc. celebrates best-ever month while sustaining 18 months of
consecutive sales success

MISSISSAUGA, ON, July 2 /CNW/ - Kia Canada Inc. achieved the best-ever sales month in its eleven year history and marked 18 months of year-over-year sales increases. Total sales for the month reached 5864 units, up 12.8 per cent versus June 2009. So far this year, Kia Canada Inc. has sold 26,506 units - a significant increase of 19.9 per cent versus the first six months of 2009.

"Kia is confident that it is well positioned, relative to other auto makers, to continue gaining market share and sales volume by satisfying Canadian customer demand for fuel-efficient and compact vehicles," said Maria Soklis, Vice President and Chief Operating Officer, Kia Canada Inc. "In addition, our sales success can also be attributed to our design-led renaissance which will be heightened with the launch the redesigned 2011 Kia Sportage later in July."

June Highlights

For the month of June, Kia Canada Inc.'s best-selling vehicle was the Forte accounting for 1573 units which was the all-time best month for this vehicle. The compact sedan continued to build sales momentum in the marketplace by sustaining a 213.3 per cent increase versus June 2009. The Kia Soul also experienced its best-ever sales month with 1140 sales in Canada. The urban crossover vehicle continues to build momentum and demand with Canadians notching its best month since it hit showrooms sixteen months ago. The all-new 2011 Kia Sorento CUV recorded its best-ever sales month with 997 vehicles delivered. "Our dealer network has enjoyed the unprecedented demand in the market for the all-new Sorento." "The design and value have contributed to one of the quickest sales turn-rates in Canada" added Maria Soklis.

July Incentives

Kia Canada Inc. has launched an aggressive retail incentive program for the month of July - the 'Kia Summer Sale' event which targets remaining 2010 model year vehicles. The core of this clear-out program includes zero per cent financing on all 2010 models, no payments until the fall plus cash savings up to $7000. Cash buyers can also select up to eight vehicles from Kia Canada's line-up for under $20,000.
