TORONTO, April 7, 2015 /CNW/ - TVOKids' Giver, the popular live-action children's series about kids helping to build playgrounds in their communities, is back with a third season. Each episode follows six kids who volunteer their time, energy and enthusiasm to transform playgrounds in their local Ontario communities. Over the course of three seasons, Giver has built over 30 parks across Ontario, teaching kids how to make a difference through helping out their community.
Giver Season 3 visits 10 new communities across Ontario building customized parks inspired by each community. Strathroy-Caradoc, gets a new playground inspired by the town's miniature railroad; in Victoria Harbour the neighboring fire department is the muse for a brand new park and Ingersoll's cheese-making roots inspires its cheese-themed playground.
The kids work alongside contractor and host, Michael Lagimodiere, helping to dig holes, paint the pieces and hammer the nails for their new playground.
Developed to help school-aged kids adopt a 'can do' attitude, Giver was created and produced by Sinking Ship Entertainment in association with TVO.
A TVOKids original airing exclusively on TVO and tvokids.com, Giver Season 3 premieres on Monday, April 13 at 6:30 pm (repeats Saturday at 1:30 pm and Sunday at 11 am) making-over parks in the following communities:

"What I learned during Giver is that when helping your community, you can make many changes and make a lot of new friends," said Shrithicka, age 10, Toronto. "Giver made many changes on children's faces and they were excited to see a new park in their community."
"Giver is a perfect example of TVO's commitment to teaching kids about citizen engagement, by providing them with a platform to see how their good intentions, combined with hard work, can benefit an entire community," said Pat Ellingson, Creative Head of Children's and Parents' Media, TVO. "Watching these kids learn by doing is amazing – they pick up tools they've never used before and re-build a playground that's falling apart or build an entirely new one, all with the goal of creating a space designed to bring families together."
"Over the course of 3 seasons, Giver kids have inspired their communities to build 33 new playgrounds throughout Ontario!," said J.J. Johnson, Series Creator, Executive Producer, Sinking Ship Entertainment. "This season of Giver sees some of our largest and most innovative builds yet, continuing our goal of showing kids that anything is possible when a community pulls together for a common goal. Let's Giver!"
